Principles of the Protection of Personal Information

Faro Inc. (hereinafter referred to as Faro) handles a considerable amount of personal information when engaged in translation, interpretation, publishing and other related enterprises. Faro shall implement and execute a Personal Information Protection Management System based on the Principles of the Protection of Personal Information and all Faro personnel shall handle personal information appropriately in accordance with the said system throughout all business activities.

1. Acquisition, use and provision of personal information

Personal information shall be acquired in the appropriate manner and to the extent it is required for performance of a job depending on the content and scale of the enterprise. Use of personal information shall be maintained within the range specified for the purpose of use. If the purpose of use is to be altered in any way, the party concerned shall be notified in advance and consent obtained before alterations are implemented. Faro shall not provide any personal information to third parties, with the exception of business entrusted to another party expressly to carry out the purpose of use. Additionally, Faro shall pursue any means necessary to prevent the provision and use of personal information outside the purpose of use. Suitability of all use and provision of personal information shall be verified by the Personal Information Administrator and activities related to control and regulation shall be supplemented through additional activities such as voluntary inspections and internal audits.

2. Security measures for personal information protection

(1) Measures to prevent unauthorized disclosure, loss, damage, etc. of personal information
Faro shall implement security measures to prevent unauthorized disclosure, loss, damage, etc. of personal information and educate and supervise employees to ensure thoroughness of procedures. Any third party to whom personal information is surrendered shall be strictly selected and supervised.

(2) Corrective action taken for unauthorized disclosure, loss, damage, etc. of personal information.
In the event of unauthorized disclosure, loss, damage, etc. of personal information, Faro shall promptly take actions necessary for correction, investigate cause and work to prevent future occurrences of any damages while making the prevention of further proliferation of damages the top priority. Additionally, information related to the event shall be reported to all relevant parties and organizations wherever necessary.

3. Observation of laws, national policies and other standards

Faro shall comply with all laws, regulations, guidelines of competent authorities, standards of affiliated organizations, etc. related to the handling of personal information.

4. Ongoing improvement of the Personal Information Protection Management System

Faro shall implement a management system for the protection of personal information and maintain it through regular review and continual improvement.

5. Complaints and consultations regarding personal information

Contact the Personal Information Inquiries Office below to report issues or receive consultation related to the handling of personal information by Faro, including inquires related to the Principles of the Protection of Personal Information as established by Faro.
